Have you seen those QR codes/ NFC business cards? You only hold one credit card-like card in your wallet, and it has all your info on it. You no longer need to repurchase business cards (or at least as many). This service is essentially one of those LINK IN BIO services you see on Instagram, except they print a card with the link via NFC or QR code.

Maybe I am wrong. Maybe you like keeping another thing in your pocket for the business card that most likely gets thrown away. Not me. I am also not trying to win a free haircut at the barbershop, so I don't use business cards as leave-behinds.

So you get the point. You can tap or scan the card. It will work with all phones if you have a phone born after 2007. When you tap it, it takes you to a website just for you. It has all your contact info, and the perfect ones have a single button to add YOU to THEIR phone as a contact.

Choosing the right service

I did some exploring. I did not want this to be something I signed up for and instantly wanted a new one right after. I didn't want to pay more than once: no monthly or yearly contracts. So I went with Dot Cards. $20 one time. THAT IS IT. Twenty bucks and you never need to rebuy business cards (mostly).

How to use the digital business card

I like to take mine out and ask my new friend to scan it or tap it. Once the website loads up, I point to the "add contact" button and say "press that, and you got all my info." There might be a better pitch, but sometimes it is more of a demonstration of my technical skills, which can leave a good impression too.
